(360 words) Pyotr Grinev is the main character of the work “The Captain's Daughter”. A.S. Pushkin puts Grinev in difficult life situations, as a result of which a real man of honor is born.
Pyotr Grinev grows up in a poor noble family, without encountering difficulties, he is brought up by Savelich and teacher Bopre. However, Grinev never gets a thorough education. When the hero turns 16 years old, he goes to serve in the Belogorsk fortress, in which, as his father wants, his son will be able to know the real service, and not a wild life in Petersburg. The first test faced by Grinev takes place on the way to service. Succumbing to excitement, he loses all the money to Zurin in cards and demands from Savelych to give them, saying: "I am your master, and you are my servant." Subsequently, Grinev realizes what he has done. He sincerely repents and apologizes to Savelych. Grinev receives a very important lesson - the ability to admit his guilt. Also, once in a snowstorm, he gives the conductor a grateful sheepskin coat in gratitude. Grinev extracts another quality - to be merciful.
Already in the service, Pyotr Grinev met with Shvabrin, his complete opposite, and with the Mironovs. Soon Grinev passes the test of love. In relations with Masha Mironova, he shows his best qualities - honesty, dedication and selflessness. Grinev is even ready to sacrifice himself for love. He challenges Shvabrin to a duel, which slandered Masha and humiliated her. Petr Grinev risks his life to protect the honest name of his beloved.
The next, but no less important test is the capture of the fortress by Pugachev. Grinev faces a choice: swear an impostor or lose his head. Not fearing death, Grinev refuses to take the oath to Pugachev, thereby preserving his honor. He remains true to his duty. However, the impostor recognizes him, because it was Pyotr Grinev who gave him a hare sheepskin coat in that unfortunate storm. Pugachev does not leave this without attention and lets him go.
The last difficult test is the prison, where Grinev gets into a denunciation. He retains his dignity and accepts his fate. No circumstances can turn him into a vile person. Thanks to the strength of spirit of Masha, which reached the Empress herself, Pyotr Grinev was released and all charges removed from him.
Petr Grinev goes a real life path, revealing in himself his best qualities. He learns selflessness, kindness, the ability to love, and most importantly - the preservation of honor. It is not in vain that at the very beginning of the story an epigraph was given in the form of a Russian proverb: “Take care of honor from a young age”.
